Brea! (again)

So after San Diego we headed up to Brea to spend a few days with Jenny and the girls!  It was such a fun time!  We got there Thursday evening and got to have dinner and play with the girls for a while.  Then we played some games and ate cookies with Jenny :)  The next day was a big day of playing soccer in the park and swimming!

I was quite the photographer at the park!  I learned a few camera tricks and shot all the photos of Jenny and Carter.  I think lots of them turned out super cute!  I also took a few really cute ones of Carter.  I was very proud of myself!

Next stop...taco bell then the McBride's for some swimming!  Dang they have an awesome pool!  It was super fun.  Sierra and Whitney are so fun.  Jenny got so many good pictures!  Get ready for an overload.

After swimming we went home and started to watch Tangled.  Whitney had to have her princess dress on and her lip gloss.  She was SO funny with lip gloss!  She wanted it on all the time, and when she had it on she wouldn't close her lips all the way so she talked really funny.  It was so cute/hilarious.

Then we had dinner and then went to get Golden Spoon!  Yay!  It was really yummy and fun until Whitney fell in the fountain!  Poor Whit.  I felt so bad, it was totally my fault.  I started chasing them when they were up on the fountain...bad idea.

That night Carter was having fun playing with me!  Yay!

The next day was the girls soccer game!  It was kind of a disappointment because it was actually just picture day, but it was still fun being there with the girls and we got a few fun pictures of the girls in their uniforms.

After the game we went and got some lunch, then later Jason's parents took care of the kids while Jenny, Jason, Billy and I went out to get Korean food!  It was so fun and definitely interesting!  They served us this yucky fried fish first...I didn't eat very much of it but I tried it!  I decided I don't really like Korean food that much.  Most of it is very yucky and/or spicy.  We were the only white people in the restaurant!  I'm sure I'm the only one there that had to ask for a fork...haha

Jason was loving it!  

It was a blast!  It turned out the girls were running fevers over at the Sneddon's so we rushed back to pick them up.  Sad!  That night we watched Pitch Perfect with Jenny and Jason after playing with Carter for a while :)  He loves grabbing mouths!  He is such a cutie though...so smiley!

 

The next morning we woke up at 5 and were out the door by 5:30...can you believe that?  We really wanted to beat the heat to avoid any car troubles.  And we made it back safely!  What a fun trip!  Thanks to everyone who fed us and housed us for a while!

California! (again)

Soooo we headed down to California again!  Dallin and Erin were coming down from Oregon for a break from school so we decided to head down to San Diego to see them and visit with the rest of the fam of course.  So we drove down 2 weeks ago on Wednesday.  We drove in right as Cody was starting to compete in a track meet, so we went straight there.  My mom, Dallin and Erin all came and met up with us.  It was fun being there but Cody never got to compete!  It was taking forever so after like 3 hours we decided to leave and it turns out Cody hurt his knee and never got to jump!  Sad!

The next day we went to the beach!  We went later in the day so we could play for a bit then BBQ, but it turns out you can't BBQ at that beach anymore!  Very sad.  So we just played for a while and then went home and had a BBQ.  We only got one picture from the beach.  My Dad was taking some pictures of us boogie boarding and I thought he was getting some of all of us but it turns out he was only taking pictures of Jayce haha!  So we only got one with Billy in it...we can tell who the favorite child is :) hehe jk jk

It turns out Dallin and Erin had to be back to school way earlier then they thought, so they had to leave the next day!  It was very sad.  It was fun hanging out with them while we did.  So we had a big lunch the next day and then sent them on their way.  Here's a pic of their cutie pie dog, Jose.  We love him but he is so so hairy!  And there is cute Pennie too.  They are BFFs now.

After lunch, the rest of us headed to Old Town to see the Mormon Battalion and walk around for a while.  Billy had never been to the Mormon Battalion before so it was cool to show him.  He got to be the guy that got all dressed up!  Cool hat huh?

After the Mormon Battalion we walked around a bit.  We saw the old school house there and a bunch of fun shops and stuff.  We stopped at a candy shop and Mom bought us $20 worth of candy!!  Yikes!  Thanks Mom :)  We also had to stop at a rock shop for Jayce.

Saturday we went to the mall for a few errands and then that night there was a welcome home party for a missionary in my home ward who just got home.  I decided last minute to go because I found out my BFF Jen was there!  Yay!  So I got to catch up with Jen and Brandon which was way fun.  I also got to catch up with a bunch of other ward members and see a few people who I haven't seen in a long long time!  Fun stuff.

Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting and then came home to take care of Jayce who was sick with pink eye and an ear infection!

Monday was just running some errands and a quick stop at Golden Spoon!  YUM!  I forgot how much I love Golden Spoon!  We ate it in the car because I am a germ-a-phobe now and didn't want to sit at any of the tables.

Tuesday we got to go kayaking at La Jolla cove with Cody and Cambrie!  It was so fun.  The kayak people told me not to bring my phone to take pictures so I don't have any :(  I'm bummed because my phone would have been totally fine.  We saw lots of big jellyfish, orange fish, and lots of seals up close!  They were swimming right near our kayaks, it was pretty fun!  It was perfect weather for kayaking.  Cody and Cambrie only flipped twice and we only flipped once at the very end :)  Afterwards, we went to eat at In-n-out.

Wednesday my Mom and I went out to lunch at this hot dog place (I know super healthy) and then to get pedicures!  And after we picked up the rest of the fam and all went to see Monsters University!  So fun!

You can tell I have been pretty lazy all summer and haven't done my hair much...hence it is always pulled back :)

The next day we went out to lunch with my Mom and Dad and then headed up to Brea to visit with Jenny and the girlies for a few days!

Summer Fun!

We have been having so much fun here in Arizona with Billy's parents!  We haven't really been doing anything too awesome...just little things that make life more fun :)  And a few book keeping items as well.  Here are some things we've been up to:

1. Well, first of all I finally legally changed my name from Sutherland to Barnes.  Only 3 years late...hehehe oops.  I got my new Arizona license as well which was pretty sad.  I got a pretty bad picture and it doesn't expire until I'm 60 so I won't get a new picture until then :( boohoo.

2. I got my diploma in the mail!!  YAY YAY YAY!!!  I'm officially a BYU grad!

3. I went to BASIS to sign all my tax forms and become an official employee!  I'm a real grown up now...weird.

4.  We've been doing lots of fun things with food.  First, we had a coke tasting test where we got 6 different kinds of cola: Pepsi, Coke, Vanilla coke, Safeway brand Cola, Dr. Pepper, and RC cola.  We tried to see if we could tell the difference between them.  Each of us only got 2 right!  Most of us got Dr. Pepper and Vanilla coke right.  Pretty funny...and fun!!

5. Another fun thing with food we've done is try ice cream on waffles for dessert.  So yummy!!  It's like having ice cream in a warm, soft waffle cone.  I love that Bruce and Karen love desserts as much as I do!

6. We've also been eating lots of Bahama Bucks!  If you have never had Bahama Bucks, I am very sorry.  It is delicious!  We went the other day with Stephen and Megan and baby Naomi.  Naomi really seemed to like it...she's a girl who knows whats up!

7. Karen and I went to World Market the other day and saw all the fun different kinds of sodas and decided it would be so fun to have another soda taste test but this time just try all different kinds of soda!  It was so fun!  Don't have a picture of this one unfortunately.  We had a key lime pie soda and a chocolate soda...yummerz!

8. We have been helping around the house a bit to earn our keep.  Billy mowed the lawn one morning in a very interesting outfit...haha I thought it was so funny.

9.  A cockroach sprinted across the carpet and I jumped up on the couch and continued reading my magazine while Billy located the little sucker...which he never did YIKES!

10. We went to Billy's 2nd cousin Ryan's wedding the other day.  They had a photo booth set up for the sign in book!  You get your pictures taken and they put it in a book and then you sign it.  So cute!!  Here are our pics:

11.  We hung out with Caitlin and Clayton the other night...we went to Grimaldi's for dinner and walked around an outside mall in Scottsdale.  It was so fun!  We love having friends here!

12.  We're still doing our insanity workouts and they are getting super hard!  We really struggled this morning!  But they definitely are good workouts...I'm so tired when we are finished everyday.  But it is awesome!!
