Bowling update

Hey this is Billy.
I know everyone is interested in knowing how the bowling league and my bowling class tournament have turned out now that the semester is over, so here's an update -

We won 1st place last night in our bowling league!  We should get our trophies next week, so maybe I'll post a pic of it then.
And in my bowling class we had a tournament which I won today!

It's been a good week for bowling!

11:11 on 11-11-11

TODAY IS SUCH A SPECIAL DAY!  As some of you may know, I love making wishes on 11:11.  I feel like it is a magical time.  So today is like the ultimate wish day.  I love it!  I just wanted to blog to show all my posterity that I was alive and well at this monumental moment in time.  I am actually currently studying for my bug quiz, so I am memorizing 25 different families of bugs (too bad it isn't 11!  seriously...11 would be way easier to remember).

When me and Billy were dating, I used to always make us make wishes on 11:11 and so we would sit there quietly making a wish and then of course we weren't allowed to tell our wishes or else they wouldn't come true, but we did anyways.  Because I always really wanted to know what Billy was wishing!  He always told me it was something stupid like "I wish I could fly" and stuff but of COURSE I knew he was wishing "I wish Caitlin would marry me!"  Or "I wish Caitlin would say something about us getting married" or "I wish we could just elope and be married right now!"...because I was wishing that he would wish that.  I always told him I was wishing that I would do well on my test, or do well in school or something lame like that, when I was always wishing that Billy would say "I love you" or talk about marriage or sometimes I really was wishing I would do well on a test because I was hanging out with Billy rather than studying so I needed all the help I could get.

ANYWAYS, today is fun.  I'm glad I'm alive for this day.

Halloween festivities!

Halloween was so fun this year.  Billy didn't have work Wednesday-Saturday the week before Halloween so we did lots of festive things!

First, on Tuesday of that week, we went over to Lauren and Dan's for some pumpkin carving!  It was way fun hanging out with them and seeing their new place!

Lauren's super cute hair-do!  I need to learn how to do this.

YAY!

They turned out pretty freakin awesome if I do say so myself (sorry Lauren, yours is kinda covered up...)

On Wednesday Billy had his bowling league and this was the first time this season I was able to go!  I decided to make pumpkin muffins again for the team.  I really need to take pictures of them actually bowling one of these days.  I <3 pumpkin muffin batter!

Thursday me and Billy went to the BYU farmer's market after I got off work!  It was so fun!  They had a bunch of fun things.  We bought some super cute Halloween pillow cases and a case of some honey butter from real bees!  Well, the honey is from real bees, not really sure how they make it into butter.  All I know is it's delicious.

Here's the pillow cases (Billy volunteered to sleep on the candy corn one because it's itchier and he doesn't even like candy corn.  What a guy am I right?)

Billy jumped into the picture on the first one and I thought it was a cute pic haha:

On Friday we went up to West Jordan I think it is to this place called Gardner's Village.  They make it all fall-ish there and decorate the whole place with these big witches.  It was really cool.  They had a bunch of little Halloween shops that we had fun walking through.

Witch biking through the air...

There were TONS of little kids there all dressed up!  It was so cute! They were all having fun dancing on that little stage to some Halloween tunes.

We bought a Halloween doormat there!  I've been looking for one for a long time but I've only found ugly ones or $40+ dollar ones but this one was super cute and 40% off!  So awesome!

Then we decided to use our Chipotle gift card Kara gave me for my birthday (thanks so much Kara!) and eat there for dinner since we were like 5 miles away!  It was my first time going there and it was SO GOOD!  Except I found a piece of plastic in my food.  Pretty sure it was the tip of a plastic glove.  Does anyone remember when Billy found a tip of a plastic glove in his food at Rubios?  Now we have both found one.  I was going to complain to get some free food or something, but I decided not to be the annoying customer and just deal with it.  It didn't dampen the experience at all, if anything it made it funnier.

Bill with his huge burrito:

Super cute pic of us huh?  Haha I kind of wish Billy wasn't making that face because then it actually would have been pretty cute, but its funny so whatevz

THE GLOVE

We were going to go to the corn maze after that, but we were both tired and cold so we decided to go home and watch a scary movie instead.  We watched The Happening.  It was pretty stupid and not scary.  So I don't recommend it.

On Saturday night I had to work :( Here is a creeper picture I took of a super cute boy dressed as Batman walking through the Wilk!  He was so adorable, too bad I only got a picture of the back of him.  And it's blurry.  I'm excited to dress up our own kids and take them trick-or-treating someday!

On Sunday we had pumpkin pancakes for breakfast and chili for dinner.  Two fall staple food items.

Sunday night we went over to John and Barbara's for a pumpkin carving party!  It was so so fun!  I love hanging out with my cousins, it's the funnest.

Everyone carving away/ getting distracted by Johnny's creative carving strategies...

cute little carvers...

our awesome Stegosaurus pumpkin!

All our pumpkins lined up outside our door...

And thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn on actual Halloween on Monday we went over to Lauren and Dan's again to watch The Uninvited!  When we were over carving pumpkins Lauren told us about one of her worst Halloween costumes that her mom made her be.  She was a "deviled egg" dressed in a white puffy coat and a yellow yolk and then devil horns.  Hahahha we thought that was hilarious so guess what we dressed up as...yep deviled eggs.  We showed up on Monday and surprised Lauren.  It was pretty hilarious.  Lauren has pictures on her phone sooooo I'll get those later and then put them on here :)  Lauren was dressed up as Audrey Hepburn...so cute!  And Dan was a sports fan.  We all dressed up just for fun and sat there in our costumes watching the movie :)  It was way fun!

So anyways, that was a really long post so sorry but it was a super fun week of Halloween activities!  I love Halloween!

p.s. I am majorly struggling with making our blog cute.  HOW DOES EVERYONE DO IT???  Help me!!!

Parks & Rec

Ok so we have been OBSESSED with the show Parks and Recreation lately.  It is THE BEST SHOW in the WORLD.  Well Billy says that I say that about every show I get in to.  But really this show is hilarious.  This clip sums it all up.  Tom speaks right to my soul in this because I'm always trying to get people to talk in abbrevs.  It's totes going to catch on someday.

Sorry this video is flipped the wrong way...it was the best quality I could find :)  my fav: chicky chicky parm parm

Fall!

So one thing I really love about being here in Provo is the Fall!  All the leaves are changing colors right now and falling off the trees and it is magical.  I love it.  Here are a few random things that have been happening lately.

We got a little hay bale the other day and some beautiful pumpkins to put on it which is so festive and fun.  Look how perfectly swirly that big pumpkin's stem is.  It's so perfect.

I got some new running shoes!  Well, they are the same as my old ones but just new.  They were $140 on Road Runner.com but I found the exact right shoe and size on Amazon for only $75!  Score!  I'm loving running in this fall weather.  Its so crisp and refreshing.

We made pancakes one Sunday morning and Billy made me one in the shape of a bug because that's all we think about these days :)  (don't worry about its deformed leg)

The view out our window currently...the construction people are being super loud again every morning.  And it's really annoying.

Here's some pictures of Billy being a cutie.  Always have to include some cutie Billy pictures.

Working hard or hardly working?  Looks like he's working pretty hard...

Just cute as can be...

changing the lightbulbs in the kitchen...HI YA!

and can you believe how sweet my mom is for sending this basket of delicious cookies to me when I was having a hard week at school?  She is so awesome.  She also sent us a Halloween package but I forgot to take a picture of everything in it and we basically ate everything she sent already sooo...just know that she is awesome.

Anyways, that's what we've been up to as of late!  We have some fun plans for this week because Billy doesn't have work Wednesday-Saturday so we are going to do some fun fall things like pick apples and go to the corn maze and make lots of pumpkin treats!  I'm so excited.

P.S. I made some mini pumpkin muffins tonight to reward myself for finishing my physics test...and as I was putting them in the oven I dropped them all face down in the oven.  It was sooooooooo sad.  But I made some more and they turned out :)  Just kind of funny/depressing that that happened!

Lauren and Dan's Wedding!!

So my BFF Lauren got married a few weeks ago on October 8th (I know this post is a little behind...)!!  It was seriously SO fun.  Our dear friends Caitlin and Clayton came up all the way from Arizona for the wedding too which made it that much better!  It was such a great weekend!

Well first, the week before on October 1st, we had a bridal shower for Lauren!  I was in charge of planning the games, which I was nervous to do but they turned out to be super funny.  Here's me and Lauren at the shower:

and here's the fun toilet paper wedding dress game we played:
hahaha it was so hilarious.  Our dress was pretty immodest.  We were combining the wedding day and wedding night into one outfit...what?  Haha anyways, thanks Anna for the pictures!  I stole them from her blog...oh Lauren's dear friend/roommate Anna and Lauren's sister Jana were the ones to plan everything else for the shower.  It was so fun guys!

So on Friday the night before the wedding we were able to go to the Timponogos temple and be there with Lauren as she took out her endowments.  It was so fun and exciting to be there to see someone I love take out their endowments for the first time.  It brought back memories of when I went through and how weird and exciting everything was.  I love being a part of this church!  When I go to the temple I always get the feeling that this church is so true and everything I'm doing is so right.  It's a neat feeling.

Anyways, the next day was wedding day!  And it was SO fun!  Have I said that enough?  Don't think so.  Everything was perfect.  We carpooled up to Salt Lake with Caitlin and Clayton which was so fun in itself.  Then we got to go to the sealing in the beautiful Salt Lake temple!  I'd never been in there before so it was way cool.  The sealing was awesome and Lauren and Dan are just the cutest.  That of course brought back memories of when we were sealed and it was amazing to think that ours was over a year ago.  I'm SO glad I got married to Billy!  Best decision ever!

Then we waited outside (in the freezing cold!  But at least it wasn't raining...or snowing) for them to come out of the temple.  Boo yeah!
Lauren's dress is SO pretty, don't you think??

I look like a dying turtle in this picture...but oh well what can ya do.  Me, Caitlin and Lauren!  We're the three best friends that anyone could have! (name that movie)

Billy being a cutie holding our flowers...

After the sealing and pictures, we headed down to a little clubhouse in Alpine for the Luncheon!  We didn't take any pictures there, but it was so delicious.  And, of course, fun.  We were so glad that Caitlin and Clayton came because we would have had no one to hang out with otherwise haha!  It was great.

Then all four of us went to Cabella's for a little bit to kill some time before the reception.  We just spent time looking at fish and books about hunting and stuff.  Then we went to the reception place to help set up and oh my goodness the place was like a dream!!  It was at this place called Wadley Farms, this adorable little farm complete with Rapunzel tower and big red barn.  It was so cute so me and Caitlin wanted to take pictures like crazy, and we were dragging our husbands into them.

Cuties :)

And here is a picture of Billy and Clayton sneaking off together to somewhere magical...hahaha

Here's a sampling of one of the group pictures in front of the barn from Anna Gleave Photography (thanks Anna, took this picture from facebook :) ).  It was so fun taking pictures there!  And the cows started coming back in from the field and that was really funny/scary because they were running.

So the reception was great.  They did this thing where they have these little charms in the wedding cake, and each member of the wedding party pulls out a little charm and it means something different for each charm.  It was fun!  I got a monkey which means I am fun and enjoy life.  Pretty good one except I don't like monkeys.  Why does everyone think they are so cute and fun?  They are gross and scary and rip people's faces off.

Cutting the cake...they did the cake in the face smash.  Classic Lauren and Dan.

Oh also Lauren didn't like her flowers.  Well she didn't like how they were arranged.  Which was understandable because they looked a little out-dated.  So the bridesmaids all went into the brides room before the reception started and had a good time rearranging her flowers!  And all the bridesmaids flowers.  They turned out much better.  It's kind of a bummer that stuff like that happens on wedding days.  But it seems to be unavoidable, not everything is going to be perfect and Lauren was such a good sport about it.

So then there was dancing, car decorating, and the grand exit!

It was such a great day and we were so happy to be a part of it.  We love you Lauren and Dan!  You guys are so awesome!
