Colby's baby blessing-- Sept 3, 2017

We had Colby's baby blessing over Labor Day weekend.  She was already 4 months old but that's the only time I could get my life together enough to make it happen.  The day was a little stressful for me being only 3 days post-surgery and having a baby that doesn't nap, but it ended up being a special day.  I'm SO BUMMED we didn't get better pictures of Colby in her blessing outfit.  I could cry about it!  She looked SO cute but all we got were small snapshots or pictures of us three where we don't all look that awesome.  I'm thankful for the pictures we did get though.

It was a small turnout for the blessing but it was perfect for me.  I couldn't have handled anything bigger I don't think, ha!  All who came: my parents and Jayce, Derek and Mariah, Bruce and Karen, Jon and Kara, Sharley and Ben, and I think that's it!  Oh and Matt Keller was there chasing his little man all around the church :)

It was a very sweet blessing.  I wrote some notes but I don't know where they are now, I need to find them.  Colby cried the whole time.  I told Billy not to let the bounce thing happen in the circle, I knew she would be freaked out and hate it and cry, but he said there's nothing that can be done to stop it, ha.  So poor Billy was a bit distracted but he still did a great job.

All ready to go and looking freaking adorable!

Thankful for these photos my Dad took in our pew before church started!

Thanks so much to everyone who came!  We love you!

Ice cream cakes that Karen got for the luncheon afterwards!

Hanging out with the Sutherland fam while they were still around...

My mom stayed a few extra days after everyone else left to help me more post-surgery and I decided to hire a sleep consultant while she was still here.  So we began the sleep training hell together and then she got to leave and I had to do it myself...soooo rough!!!

Sweetest face post-crying.  Breaks my heart!

Getting some Grammy lovin!

Daddy lovin time!

Thanks to everyone who came!  Especially my mom who helped me out sooo much during a rough time!

Caitlin's surgery

I had to have a surgery on August 30th on a cyst that I had develop during pregnancy.  It was the most random thing ever that it appeared and I swear it was the most painful thing I had experienced before childbirth!  I had to prepare a bunch of milk ahead of time because I couldn't nurse afterwards for 24 hours.  Billy took the day off of work and handled Colby all day for me!  Then my mom came into town and took over from there for the next few days.  I wasn't allowed to SIT for 6-8 WEEKS!  I will never take sitting for granted again.  For real.

*For me to remember: I had to have a wound vac on for the week following the surgery.  It was fine the first few days (just no showers, only sponge baths), but the last few days were awful because it would buzz when the tape started to come loose so it was buzzing ALL THE TIME!  It would keep me up at night and just drive me crazy in general.

Ready for surgery.  Karen was so nice and came to the hospital with me while Billy took care of Colby

This may have been the last time we ever used bottles!  She became a much better nurser after my surgery for some reason.  Maybe she realized she took nursing for granted!

Snoozin on Billy
Someone learned to grab their toes!

Trying on blessing outfits!  We had the baby blessing a few days later.

Colby looooves Grayson!
This girlie loves her Grammys!

It was a super bummer I had to have the surgery but I was so thankful for all the help and I'm glad I got it over with.

Colby-- 4 months

Colby at 4 months:
-Still held for naps
-Transitioned to pack n play for sleep, doing OK with that
-Getting good at grabbing stuff and very proud of herself
-Loves bath time
-Becoming very interested in our food (cookie dough especially)
-Still smiling with tongue out
-Really starting to find her voice
-Loves the 3 little ducks song, and any song being sung by Grammy Barnes
-Got a new bouncer and is not so sure about it, feet can't quite touch the ground
-Sitting in the Bumbo like a champ, loves being part of the action in the kitchen
-Still has super funky hair and a kind of flat head
-Tried baby food!  And was not a fan (this was actually once she was 4 months, these pics are during her fourth month of life but we didn't start baby food until she was 4 months old)
-Always wants to be held!

Fun times with Colby at month 4!  She is getting more and more fun, and also easier, by the day.

She has blowouts all the time at 4 months!

Grabbing Dad's shirt collar, and super tired because she is refusing to nap of course

Tried out the big girl stroller and she was NOT a fan

Loves sitting on the counter in her Bumbo, and loves crinkling the chocolate chip bag as I'm making cookies!

I discovered a way to sneak in some tummy time!  On the boppy pillow!

Looking so cute and chubby after getting shots

New outfit from Grammy S.

Fell asleep like this!  Mouth wiiiide open
And another falling asleep on my arm.  Girl used to fight sleep so hard she would fall asleep at the most random times sometimes

Successfully laid her down onto my lap.  Now to slip out from under her and take a shower...

How she slept in her pack n play at 4 months.  Not totally safe with the pillow but she needed it to feel more secure like her rock n play and not so open

Billy was in charge for a couple minutes...
Favorite pictures of all time...

She's always loooved hymn books!
Testing out the new bouncer

Clinging to mom and laying her head on my shoulder

Flying away

Sup?
Cute as can be for her 4 month Bumbo pic!  Her thighs used to not fit in the bumbo, I would have to open the leg holes more so she could slide her thick legs in!

And a pic of what her crazy hair looked like from the back

Lovin cousin Roro

All ready for church!
Hating baby food and Grammy munching in the background

She used to just have her arms inside the bouncer like this. Haha so cute

Snoozin'
Love this girl!  I kind of miss these tiny baby days! <3
