7 Year Anniversary

Our anniversary is August 12th.  This year's anniversary was very different!  It was very low key because we used to never leave the house, ha.  We went out to lunch at Chipotle (our fave) with Colby in tow.  She was a good little girlie and loved watching all the kids run around in the restaurant.  Happy 7 years to us!

Colby-- 3 months! / Trip to San Diego

After the Barrow reunion I came home for a few days, then Billy drove me to Yuma where we met my mom and I went home with her while Billy drove back to Phoenix.  I spent a week in San Diego just to break up the awful heat in AZ and the "new mom" loneliness.  Colby turned 3 months old at the Barrow reunion, on July 25th!  I can't remember many details anymore, but I'll try my best.

One of my very fave pics ever!
At 3 months Colby was:
-Either sleeping in bed with me or restlessly in her pack-n-play crib (transitioned out of the rock-n-play because she was getting too big)
-Flat head, crazy hair
-Drooling constantly
-Held for all naps, not a good napper
-Starting to be able to grab/bat at things
-Loving her red ball toy
-Becoming an awful nurser
-Beginning to giggle a little
-Learned how to roll tummy to back right after she turned 3 months!

We had a good time in San Diego.  Of course I don't remember everything we did.  Mostly just hung around the house because Colby was difficult to take places and wouldn't nap so I had anxiety about her freaking out somewhere (which she did at Costco...ugh).  We went to Costco, the mall, the park, Target, and that's pretty much it!

Loving her ball toy that she can now grab!  She did not last long happy in my mom's car.  She only liked our car because of the awful tires and shocks, she was always lulled to sleep.  Hated any other car.

Epic blowout on the way to Yuma!

She slept in bed with me the whole trip.  It was rough at the time but I miss it now.

First visit to the Vans store!
Hated the stroller after a short time so in the carrier she goes

Fell asleep on me getting burped...this never happened!

Practicing her rolling skillz dangerously on the ottoman

Snoozin away

Billy came to pick us up the next weekend.  My mom let us sneak away for an hour or so (our first date since Colby was born!) and we went to the beach then got gas, woo!  My mom was waiting for us out on the driveway when we got home with a screaming baby.  Poor mom, and Colby.

She loved snoozin in our car

We went to eat at Blue Water Market and Grill (a family favorite) while Billy was in town and Colby did alright but started freaking out shortly and I had to take her out to the alley and rock her to sleep.

Dad came out to protect me because it was an alley in downtown San Diego, ha

After the long drive back home.  Colby did pretty well but was over it the last hour or so.  You can tell by my face I was over it as well.

Barrow Family Reunion, July 24-27 2017

Shortly after the Sutherland Reunion we got to head to Colorado again for the Barrow Reunion!  Super random that they both ended up being in Colorado.  The Barrow Reunion was also at a ski resort but in a town called Durango.  It was a fun few days, but again everything is much more stressful with a baby!  This was when Colby's sleep was getting a little better, but she was sleeping in bed with us which made getting any good sleep tough so I was pretty tired.  I have said this before and I will say it again, I had a rough go with Colby for the first little while of her life, haha!  But things are much better now.

The drive out to Durango was 7 hours but we decided to break it up into 2 days just to make it easier on Colby.  She did great on the drive there, slept most of it and did really well in the hotel room (I think, I can't even remember!)

The resort was pretty incredible!  We had these giant rooms, they were like houses.  Ours had 4 bedrooms and a loft, it was almost bigger than my parent's house, ha!  Everyone was able to make it from our little family, including Dallin, so that was a unique experience.

We spend our few days just hanging at the resort mostly, enjoying the rides and things they had there.  Monday was the first day of the reunion.  We all met in the big conference room and had dinner and caught up.  We all went to bed early.  Tuesday we started the day with a resort tour and then hung out the rest of the day.  We rode the alpine slide with Cami and Rifka and also did the zipline while my mom watched Colby!  That evening we all gathered for dinner again and a little program where we all updated everyone on what we had been up to for the last 3 years.

On the drive.  She was a good little traveler!
Once we got there and got all checked in everyone met in the conference room for dinner and a program.
Aunt Rachel, Jessica, Aunt Susan, Annie and me!

Cami and Rifka riding the lift up with us to do the alpine slide on the way down.  Look at that view!

Travis and Cami had baby Peter about 6 weeks after Colby was born so we got them matching Thing One and Thing Two onesies...so cute!

Wednesday lots of people were going mountain biking and I figured I wouldn't be able to go because of Colby but we got her sleeping and I went for it!  It was super scary (PTSD from breaking my wrist a few years ago) so I looked like a total wuss in the back going super slow but it was still way fun to do something a little crazy and get away from the baby for a bit, ha!  My Dad was super nice and stayed with me the whole time even though I'm sure he would have loved to be shredding up the mountain.

That evening we took a family picture and then headed to a chuck wagon dinner, which is a BBQ style dinner with a show.  It was pretty fun just being with everybody but I was a stressed mess as usual having Colby there, ha.
I put this pic of Cami and Peter here because my head is in the background proving that I was there.  Ha Billy and I sucked at taking photos this trip!  Thanks Cami for the pics :)
Thursday was the day everyone was leaving.  We were going to do the whole drive in a day this day, and I remember it being pretty rough but Colby used to do super well in our car with the old tires and awful shocks haha.  I was going to go home with my family but made a quick change of plans and went back home to AZ.  We loved getting to see everyone and can't wait for the next Barrow gathering!

Barrow Fam, minus a few and yes, with my eyes closed :)
The awesome looking photos in this post are all from Cami!  Thank you! <3

Family photos, July 2017!

Trying to get caught up! My friend Sharley offered to take some family photos for us in July!  Colby was almost 3 months old I believe when these photos were taken.  I love them!  Thanks Shar!  Here are some of the best ones.

Stinker baby.  She was always so tired but would never close her eyes...sigh.
