Recent events

The last two weeks/weekends have been super fun, but, of course, super busy.

Last weekend, Billy's mom was in town for her nephew's/Billy's cousin/now my cousin Chris' wedding! The ceremony started at 5:30 up in Murray so we had to hurry after work and class to get up there. It was a really nice ceremony and fun wedding!

The bride and groom:

Here is a bad picture of me, but a good one of Bill at the wedding:
Her colors were green and black. It was way cute.

Then Karen came and stayed with us Friday night! Our first house guest! It was way fun. It felt like a slumber party. We all stayed up late talking and watching our wedding video :)

Then Saturday I had a work meeting at 8 am (bleh!) to 10. After I got home Karen took us out to eat for breakfast at Mimi's! We love Mimis. It was so fun and delish. Later we went up to Thanksgiving Point to meet up with all the Aunts and Uncles and cousin's from Karen's side, and then head up to Billy's cousin Kindy's (sp?) house. They have a super fun house and were so nice to invite us over to swim and have a BBQ! It was way fun getting to know all of Billy's family better, and also to get out of Provo for a day :)

That's me with Billy's cousin Stephanie's baby, Cameron. He is such a cutie and gives the craziest looks! :) He fell asleep on me. I love babies!

Their house was in Kaysville, so a little past SLC, so we left kind of early because we were way tired and didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel.

Sunday was a good day. I love going to church and then having a chill day all day :) Jen and Brandon invited us over to watch a movie that night with another couple in our ward, the Pingrees. We watched a movie that I can't remember the name of right now which is weird. It wasn't The Illusionist...but the other one. Wow this is weird I can't remember. ANYWAYS it was way fun and we are liking having married friends!

Ok so then we had a crazy week of school and work as usual :)

Then THIS weekend, on Friday we went up to the moonlight ride at Sundance with the Pierce's and the Pingree's again :) It was super fun even though the line was WAY long and we got done WAY later than I thought! But it was still fun even though we were all freezing afterwards.

all bundled up and both of us looking like men...

here is cutie Jen and Brandon in their little seat:
and here is Hayley and Christian:

hahaha I missed. And so I didn't get a picture of them. Because i'm bad at being the group date photographer. And we were going to take a group pic once we got back, but I think we were all super tired and forgot! :( Sorry guys!

Then on Saturday, I had work at 1 and then after, Bill picked me up and we went and ate at Rubios. mmmm love their fish tacos. Seriously so much. Then we did have some awesome plans for that night with some friends from work, but things fell through so me and Bill ended up going and playing raquetball instead. It was SUPER fun! But it was getting pretty intense and therefore I am now very sore. And i'm pretty 100% sure I sprained my wrist. I'm not trying to be a baby or anything but seriously, it hurts. But it was fun to do something different!

Then on Sunday we went to church then over to John and Barbara's for Italian night!! They had spaghetti AND lasagna, zucchini cooked somehow on the stove (I obviously know nothing about cooking...it was way good though), garlic bread, salad and italian sodas! And we had gelado for dessert! It was so fun and we got to see their addition on their house so far! They now have a basement...which is way cool. I'm excited for it to all be done and see how beautiful it is! They are adding on like another whole house on the back of theirs! Way fun.

Okay, I am obviously a rambling blogger so I apologize. I will try to make our posts shorter in the future :)

p.s. just for all who want to know...I got a 100% on my Field Botany mid-term!

p.p.s. Bill just took a test today and he thinks he may have gotten 100% on it as well! YAY! Its so much easier to do homework now that we are married...kind of :)

Field Botany

Have you ever wondered what the Latin family name, genus name, species name, and common name are for every tree and/or shrub that you ever see ever anytime you are anywhere? Me either.

BUT fortunately I am currently enrolled in Field Botany! So I am lucky enough to be able to know these 4 things about each and every living tree or shrub EVER! Not really, just 250 trees and shrubs, but that is still a lot and most of them we find on BYU campus...therefore I know pretty much every plant on campus. Who knew there was such variety and thought that goes into the landscape of BYU?

Here is my lovely collection of my notecards so far:

We have 72 plants that we have collected around campus so far. And I know them all. Even ask Billy.

I had a nightmare the other night that I forgot to study for my plants quiz and was frantically trying to remember plant names while asleep.

That pine you see...family name: Pinaceae. Genus: Abies. Species: Concolor. Common: White fir. I know 72 of those. Boo-yah.

Fortunately, it's a block class, so it will be over at the end of October. I am so excited for when it's over! Then life can go back to normal and Billy doesn't have to stay up and help me study every night/fall asleep on the couch waiting for me to be done studying :)

Such a cutie :)

One month!

We've been married for a whole month! We can't believe it! It feels like just yesterday was our wedding day. Well actually, it feels like it was about a month ago since we had a honeymoon and have been going to school and stuff, so I guess that makes sense.

Since our one month is on a Sunday, we decided to celebrate on Saturday. Well, let me back up and start with Friday since we were brave and went to our married stake BBQ Friday night and got some hot dogs and ice cream :) We had fun and met some nice people. We are going to have to be brave and put ourselves out there if we are going to have married friends...which we need :)

So then on Saturday, we slept in and Billy made some delish scrambled egg sandwiches for brunch-ish. Then I had to work from 1-4:30 and while I was gone, Billy was such a great husband and man and cleaned the bathroom and kitchen spotless to suprise me! (Unfortunately it REALLY needed to be cleaned already...) He picked me up from work and took me home and showed me the beautiful house and I was so happy and THEN he said that he left his phone out in the car which in reality he actually just left some beautiful red roses out in the car!! And he brought those in and of course I started crying a little and was so glad I married someone who is so good to me!

Then we had to hurry and get ready for adult session of Stake Conference which we thought was at 5 at our church building but apparently we were lied to...or just misheard when and where it was. So we drove around for a while trying to follow people who were walking around in church clothes but we could not figure out where it was so we called it quits and went out to dinner instead. We went to Magleby's!

Yes, we are wearing the same clothes we wore in our engagement pictures :) Our food was super super good! And of course if you go to Magleby's you have to get the famous chocolate cake!

The cake is pricey, but it's a must. After dinner we went to go see Inception, since I haven't seen it yet. It was way good! I wish my dreams were that real. And make that much sense. The dreams in that movie really didn't make that much sense, so that shows you how much sense my dreams make.

Today has been a good day! We went to stake conference this morning and got to hear Elder Holland and President Packer speak! It was so great. We are so lucky we go to BYU where we can hear apostles speak to us on a regular basis. After that we decided to crank out some homework...well actually I took a nap and Billy did a lot of this:

A.k.a. playing Slingshot Cowboy on my ipod touch. His favorite game. You shoot cows with a slingshot. Cool.

We then went over to our neighbors for dinner and some games with 2 other couples from our ward. It was way fun! They knew how to play Pounce so me and Billy were loving it. I beat Billy. Just putting that out there. And it was my first time not playing with teams. It was way fun.

Happy one month anniversary to me and Bill! Can't wait for all of the 34598457485844534859+ more months we have together!

Here is a funny picture to end with:

Oh and Billy got a haircut this week which was great. He needed one :)

oh and also we have been eating our wedding cupcakes that we stored in the freezer because everyone tells us not to wait for the 1 year because the cake tastes gross by then so we have been eating them now and they have retained their moistness and deliciousness! So we have been eating a lot of cake lately :)

First Post!

So, we're finally married now, and once you get married you make a married blog, right? So we're just doing whats next on the list for a newly married couple :)

For a little backgroud info...we got engaged on May 8th, 2010 in San Diego.

and here's an engagement picture...compliments of elise lauren photography :)

We got married on August 12, 2010 in the San Diego temple. We actually just got our wedding pictures back TODAY! And we are stoked. Here is a little sampling...

pretty awesome, huh??

Okay, so in order to marry someone, you have to love them and in order to let someone know you love them you tell them so...right? Billy told me he loved me for the first time a year ago today (Labor Day). We went to Thanksgiving point gardens to walk around and enjoy the beautiful flowers. We decided that since that was such a fun day, we wanted to do the exact same thing this year! So this morning, after sleeping in and then a delish breakfast of banana pancakes, eggs and bacon...

(freaking amazing...props to us)

we headed up to Thanksgiving point to enjoy the beautiful flowers and each other! This year, however, we rented SEGWAYS! Instead of just walking. It was seriously so SO fun and definately worth the fortune we had to pay for it! :) Here are some pictures from last year and from this year. We tried to re-enact some of the pictures from last year this year........we're funny.

Last year...

This year....can you tell which ones we tried to re-do?

please notice the little boy in this next picture...

okay this blogging thing is a lot more frustrating than I thought it would be. I'm probably doing it wrong. Anyways, our super fun day ended with a delish dinner from Cafe Rio...same as last year!

we were going to eat at the restaurant because that's always super fun, but it was way crowded so we decided to come home and do this/watch Band of Brothers instead. Which we are watching right now and i'm about to puke because it's showing someone who got shot in the artery and blood is spewing everywhere. Oh man the guy just died. The medic is mad he couldn't save him. Gross. Anyways, it was such a fun day and we are loving being married!

I hope I did this blog legibly enough that it makes sense. Happy Labor Day and happy year anniversary of when Billy said "I love you" to Caitlin! :) Bye.
