My Dad

I know Father's Day was yesterday, so yes I am a day behind on this.  I just wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am for my Dad.  I feel like I am really good at letting my Mom know how grateful I am for her, but sometimes I struggle letting my Dad know how equally grateful I am for him.  I am so lucky to have such a strong, righteous, loving, kind man for a Dad!  He is so good at being a Dad.  He has always been at every single one of my softball games, soccer games, basketball games, cross country meets, and track meets.  He has supported me in everything I have ever pursued and has helped me become who I am now.  I have also loved watching him be equally as supportive of all of my brothers.  I love how happy he is to go to all the silly T-ball games with a bunch of 5-year-olds running around having no clue what they are doing.  He is also such a great spiritual leader.  For a lot of years I think I based my testimony off of his, because he is so unwaveringly faithful.  I think I sometimes still lean on his testimony to help me get through hard things.  As I was looking for a husband, one of the things that I saw in Billy was the potential to become a great of a man as my Dad, and as great as Billy's Dad for that matter.  I am excited to see Billy become a Dad and to have daughters feel the same way about him as I feel about my Dad!  I love you Dad!

Had to throw this one in here.... :)

Summertime...and the livin's easy

I FINALLY FINISHED SPRING SEMESTER!!  I am really proud of myself people.  For some reason this semester I really really wanted to get strait A's (I know I should really want to get strait A's all the time.....) probably just to prove to myself that I could get A's in really hard classes if I really tried.  So I studied a ton and it was really hard.  Not sure what grades are yet, but it's looking pretty good.  I think.  I hope.  Anyways now its OVER AND IT FEELS SOOO GOOD!

So over the past few days of the semester being over we have definitely been taking advantage of the summer free time and weather!  We stay up late, we sleep way in, we watch lots of movies, we had a bbq with Lauren and Dan and some of their other friends in the park, and today we decided we are going to work on a skate video of Billy!  He has been getting back into guitar (which is SO fun for me because he is way better than I thought he was haha and it's really fun to hear him play all the time!) and that has made him want to get back into skating.  So today we went out and found a good skating spot and I took some video of him doing some sweet stuff that we will one day compile into one big awesome vid.  Check it out:

Sorry there's so many...I couldn't decide :)  He's still got skillz!  Also sorry about all my weird noises in these clips...I couldn't help it.  Here's a couple pretty cool pictures I got too.

We can't wait for the rest of summer and all the fun adventures we are going to have!!

Billy's Birthday & other randoms

So I thought I would just do another random update with pictures I've taken lately.  It's been a crazy semester, and it's only getting crazier.  But it ends in a week and a half!!!!!  I'm SO excited...but I have so much to do before its over :( wah.  So I should be studying right now...but I'm not.  I'll get right back to it after this post!  I promise.

Billy's Birthday was on the 23rd.  I was a bad wife and didn't plan anything...or get him anything.  Yikes.  I had school and work all day, and he had work, so I figured we would just celebrate later.  But we decided to go out to dinner and to see Thor that night!  Which was way fun.  My Mom also sent Billy some wrapped presents that we saved for his birthday...so he opened those too.  Thanks Mom!

He got this sweet little photo album thing that had no pictures but gift cards instead!!  It was sweet!  We are always in need of some gift cards :)  He also got some clothes...this shirt was my favorite that he got.

He wore it that night out to dinner at Wingers!

Billy's parents also sent him 2 movies for his birthday...Knight and Day, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  We love movies!!  Thanks to all parents!

Some other random stuff that's been happening...

We made cookies and this one came out shaped like a heart!  I saved it for last :)

My chemistry professor usually blows up some sort of balloon arrangement every Friday in class.  This one was pretty sweet.  On the balloons it said "END OF THE WORLD" due to the end of the world that was supposed to happen...that didn't.  It was pretty funny.  I tried to film it because the explosion was huge and awesome, but I couldn't figure out how to work my phone in time :(  So I just took a mental video of it.

Haha everyone was filming it.  It's pretty rad.  And yep that is where I sit EVERY DAY for 2 hours.  Ugh I cannot wait for that class to be over.  I'm so done with amino acids, glycolysis and the Kreb's cycle!  This semester my classes are pretty in-detail of stuff.  It's a little frustrating that it feels like the more I go to school, the more I realize I don't know about anything.  I wish I could just know everything!

Also, EFY has begun taking over BYU campus.  It's pretty fun seeing all the teenagers walking around with their ridiculous hair and make-up trying to impress everyone else, and remembering how I used to do the exact same thing.  EFY is a nightmare at Jamba, because all the kids come and they ALL pay with cash, so we run out of pennies so fast and they ALL say made-up names like Voldemort, Darth Vadar, Oprah, etc.  So it makes you feel pretty dumb when you have to keep yelling "Oprah!  OPRAH!  OPRAH COME GET YOUR SMOOTHIE!!"  And they all laugh.  But on Friday I was working register and all the kids began swarming and then one of the counselors told them all to stop because they had something for the Jamba employees!  So we all stood around the front and there were like 1000 kids standing in front of the counter and these 4 boys had made up a rap about EFY and Jamba and how awesome we are and stuff.  It was really fun.  And they had made us a poster and all signed it and wrote some pretty hilarious stuff.  We loved it.  And it made all the annoyingness of those kids worth it!
This one was my favorite...

Awesome.  They were probably referring to just me.  Hahahah jk jk jk.  I also liked the ones that just said "I <3 Juice".  Pretty funny.  Also, there were a lot that said "you guys are cheifin'!"  What does that even mean?  Is that a new thing I am unaware of in the teenage world?  Cheifin'?  Strange.

Anyways, that was very fun.  On Friday night we hung out with Lauren and Dan.  We walked up and down Center Street-ish area looking at art.  It was pretty cool.  There are some talented people in the world.  Like the lady who carves gourds.  Pretty cool...I guess.  We went bowling after that which was so fun!

Sad attempt at taking a picture of me and Bill with my phone...but I kinda like it.

Will you take a look at this score?  Please ignore how badly I did...like seriously.  But look right at the end!  No strikes the whole game and then at the very end both Billy and Dan get 2 strikes each in the last frame!!  Haha it was so crazy.  But Dan still has to change diapers for a year once they have their first child because he lost.  Haha.  Billy will be changing diapers no matter what the scores were.  I don't want to change all the diapers...I'll leave them face down on his side of the bed if he doesn't help.  But I'm not worried about it :)

Oh one last picture that will melt your heart...Billy likes to be in the same room as me when I study/I like him to be in the same room as me...so he set up camp with his blanket laid out, his popcorn and lemonade, and his Redbox all set up and watched a movie while I studied.  So cute I had to take a picture.

Well that's all the pictures I've got.  I guess I'll get back to studying.  I can't wait to blog about all the fun things we do during summer when I won't have school!!!  YAY!
