Movie Star!

Sometimes Billy says the most hilarious things.  Sometimes he is trying to be funny, but most of the time he just says stuff that is soooooo hilarious but he doesn't even realize why it's funny.  I had to blog about this one because it was just too good.  On Sunday we had a High Councilor speak (after the most horribly awkward talk by this new guy in our ward...but that is another story).  He stood up at the pulpit and Billy leaned over to me and said "He looks like a movie star!"  I started cracking up because this guy was super old and balding and was wearing these small glasses...aka he did NOT look anything like anyone who could be a movie star.  Turns out Billy was referring to the old man from Spiderman who helps Norman Osborn get in that one machine that makes him turn evil.  Yep, the guy who has like 2 lines and then dies.  This guy:

We then discussed and I explained to him what the real definition of a movie star is.  Someone like Brad Pitt or Matt Damon or the guy who played Thor...not this guy.  Haha hilarious.

Spring Semester

Hey guys!  So far Spring semester has been pretty cool.  Here are some random updates.

Our 9 month anniversary was a few days ago on the 12th :)

We went to the duck pond to see the ducklings and got lucky and saw a sunbathing turtle trying to balance on a small rock!  It fell off and was pretty hilarious.

The recent new addition to our family.  Yep that's right, a lava lamp.  Sorry about the bad quality photo.

Pretty cool clouds looming over our neighborhood.  I secretly love Provo in the Spring because of all the rain!  And the blossoms.  And the ducklings.

And this is what this semester has done to me so far...

hahahahahahah it's been rough people.  For journal purposes:  spring semester 2011 consists of taking human physiology and chem 285.  Which equals lots of studying.  Even on Friday and Saturday nights.  Lame.

Funny story:  Billy was helping me study last night and he was laying on the couch asking me flashcard questions when all of a sudden he closed his eyes for like one second, I thought he was blinking, but then they didn't open again.  Pretty sure he had stopped talking mid-sentence.  I was like "Billy?" and he awoke all confused and his eyes went all cross-eyed.  How does anyone fall asleep that fast??  hahahah it was so funny I still laugh so hard when I think about it.  He was like narcoleptic or whatever it's called.  So great.

We had a classy salmon dinner the other night.  Thanks to physiology and organic chemistry, I have been feeling guilty for not getting enough of my omega-3 fatty acids and therefore, we had salmon.  It was pretty good but I'm pretty sure it was a little undercooked :(

Speaking of classy... my little baby 6 foot 3 inch brother went to his senior prom on Saturday!!!!  Can you believe it?  I was so proud of him for going, and it sounded like he had a good time.  Can't believe we're all growing up.

Oh and also some awesome news!  Remember this girl?  Oh all the embarrassing pictures I could share...I'll restrain myself to only these :)

Well guess what guys!!!!!!!  SHE'S ENGAGED!!!  To this awesome guy named Dan.

I'm very excited for them.  They are the cutest.  Yay congrats Lauren!  I love you!

Well I think that's it for now, hopefully we'll take some cool pictures of some cool stuff soon.  Billy's birthday is in a week!  The big 2-5 aka a quarter of a century old!  Yikes.

1 year ago today & Mother's Day

Do you guys know what happened on May 8th 2010?  Billy proposed to me.  Yep, it's been a year.  How crazy is that?  I'm glad I don't have to plan a wedding right now, but sometimes I wish I could go back and get proposed to all over again just for fun.  It definitely was a unique feeling.  So that means only 3 months until we've been MARRIED for a YEAR!  Wowza.

Also I wanted to talk about how awesome my mother is on account of that today is Mother's Day.  She really is wonderful.  She has always been my best friend.  She listens to me, understands me, and gives me the best advice.  She loves her kids more than anything, and sacrifices everything for our happiness.  She becomes friends with people so quickly, and makes them feel at ease.  She really cares about people, and cares about their struggles and their needs.  She supports every decision I make.  She loves me even when I fail at things, and helps me get through it and see the good.  She helps me find joy in the journey, because sometimes I forget how good life really is.  She really wants me to succeed, and always does everything in her power to make it happen.  She raised me to have a testimony so I now have the blessings of being a member of this church and having this joyous gospel in my life.  She has the strongest testimony of anyone I know (tied with my Dad, actually :) ) and she bears it often so I always know how much she notices the influence of the Lord in her life.  She loves my Dad like crazy and I've seen it everyday of my life, and that has now helped me to be better in my own marriage.  I could seriously go on and on...but I'll stop there.  I love you Mom!!!!!

California! (Part 2)

Ready for part 2?  I have decided there are only going to be 2 parts.  Because I'm writing this blog 2 weeks later than we actually went to California.

Sooo we spent a lot of time at Billy's sister Jenny's house while we were in California!  Well, not a lot of time.  Not enough time that's for sure.  But more than we usually get to spend!  So it was very fun.  We had so much fun playing with cute Sierra and cutie baby Whitney.  They are seriously the cutest little girls in the world (tied with Maddison and Scarlett of course :) ).  Unfortunately, we only took pictures of Whitney :( she just makes the most hilarious faces!  But Jenny got some good ones of us with Sierra too...so I promise she was there and we loved playing with her.

We went to Taqueria and got some delish tacos.  Whitney is so cute in this picture with beans all over her face and that scowl.  Just ignore my creepy looking face in this pic.
 Love this one!

It was so fun being with Jenny and Jason and the girlies.  Can't wait to see them again...they are growing up too fast!

We also got to spend Easter at my house!  And we did a Birthday celebration for me too :)  I love being home for my birthday because of the super fun birthday celebrations and how I get to pick my own cake and dinner.  My mom experimented with my cake this year...both my favorites in one cake!  It was really good...Billy especially liked it.  He had it for basically breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Filling eggs for our egg hunt that kind of turned out to be a disaster because Cody was getting all the eggs and he stole the golden one from Jayce.

 Our sweet baskets Easter morning!
Derek and Cody were really excited.  P.s. Derek turns 18 tomorrow, can you believe it??!?!?!  I can't!!!

 Jayce was though!

The boys fighting over the golden egg...

 Striped cake and silly Jayce.

Pennie loves to help me open my presents.

Trying to sneak in a little nibble...

Well, there you have it.  Our awesome trip to California.  I wish we could go back.  Spring semester is so short and therefore there is so much school to do ALL THE TIME!  It's ok...its over June 20.  Almost there!

California! (Part 1)

Ok guys I think I'm going to break this post up into several baby posts, because I have a lot of pics and want to blog about a lot of stuff :)  My mom also helped me figure out how to make the pics big!  Woo!

So last week we decided to get our finals done early...we both finished Wednesday morning, and then hopped in the car and drove to San Diego! The drive didn't even feel that long because we listened to the book The Outsiders on CD and it was SO GOOD! I read that book in like 7th grade, but didn't realize how good it was I guess. Probably because it was an assignment for school.  We are now obsessed with the outsiders. We love the way they talk! We've tried to incorporate the words "Golly" and "lousy" into our regular vocabulary.  ALSO we stopped at a DQ like 2 hours out of town to get ice cream and at the gas station there was a random petting zoo!  With a zebra!  It was awesome to say the least.

There was a bunch of other cool animals too:

Anyways, we got home pretty late on Wednesday.  Thursday we got to go to Cody's track meet and see him pole vault and also see Coach Medlock, my fav track coach!  Here's a pic of us from far away chatting with him :)

Here's Cody being a stud:

Also my bff Megan just happened to be at the track meet so I got to see her!  That was SO FUN!  She is hilarious.  She was creepishly sitting behind us and made this strange barking/dying noise so I turned around to give the "what the heck are you doing, you weirdo?" look and turns out she was trying to get my attention and it totally worked!!  So funny.  Loved it.

After the track meet we went to the Padres game with Derek!

I'm eating the first base coach.....

Friday was MY BIRTHDAY!  We headed up to Disneyland for the day!  It was pretty disgustingly crowded...but we made the best of it anyway.

Walking in...

Billy pinning on my birthday button (because I couldn't do it myself I guess?  It made for a good picture okay.)

 California Screamin!

I wanted a frozen banana.  There's always money in the banana stand.

Jayce was so scared to ride the swings ride!  But Billy was a good comforter and helped him feel at ease.  That's what best friend brothers are for.  So cute.

We rode the Disneyland train...(which I have never even been on!  And this is a pretty crazy/blurry picture but I liked it)

It's a bug's life...(that Jayce was also terrified of)

A few of our classic ride pics:

Me and Billy decided to take a nap...

And then we got REALLY good at making faces....

HAHAHAHhaha just kidding.  I took too long taking the picture with my phone so right when I clicked "take" the picture switched to this one.  How perfect is that?  Look at these people.  Hilarious.

After a wonderful Disneyland day we went to the Rainforest Cafe for my Birthday dinner!

Cody shaking hands with the Gorilla.  BFFs.

THE VOLCANO birthday cake Mom got me!  The restaurant people sang to me and everything! :)

Mom and her 21 year old daughter...who look like sisters.  Seriously look at us!  We look a lot alike in this picture.  And like the same age.  Weird.

Jayce (and Mom) said some pretty hilarious things all day that day that I will share in conclusion of this post.

Mom: (on the bus on the way to Disneyland...really loudly) "Whats up with all the gangsters on this bus??!"
The rest are Jayce.
"I'm going to name my kid Drinking Milk, and for his nickname call him Milk."
"You know like tornadoes cause a lot of damage in one small area, and hurricanes cause a little less damage over a bigger area" <-- I was impressed with that one
"What if this restaurant was our bedroom and there was like a huge bed and everyone in the restaurant right now would get to sleep in it so we would all just eat dinner and then sleep here?"
"What if a human went around to everyone's house and asked if they could take all the hair from their bathroom and then made a gorilla with it?"
"Are we almost leaving because I FARTED!"
One of Jayce's awesome made-up jokes: "One time there was a man who was walking down the street and he saw a car and he ATE IT!"
"What if there was only one mailman for the whole world and he had to travel around the world every day and deliver everyone's mail and his bag was so big that it went up into space?"

And those are only a few.  The day was full of "Hey Caitlin!  Watch me do this!"  So I would watch him hit a ball over the fence, or throw his sandwich into the trash super hard, or stomp on a leaf, etc.  He is the funniest kid I know!

Anyways, it was a great day!  That is the conclusion of the first not-so-baby post of a few more to come :)
