Thanksgiving in San Diego

So November was a blah month.  I just remember being SO over the routine of life and so ready for Thanksgiving to come so we could mix it up a bit.  In November the election happened, which was big, and Trump won.  That's really the only thing worth noting from November.  Just working and being lazy on the weekends.

For Thanksgiving this year we drove out to San Diego super early on Wednesday the 23rd.  Once we got into town I went for an exercise walk with my mom and Cody.  The rest of the day was spent food prepping for Thanksgiving the next day.  We watched Finding Dory in the evening which was super cute.

Thursday we started the morning with our annual Turkey Trot!  we did almost 4 miles and it was great to be out there as a fam.  Mom made waffles for everyone once we got back.  She's the best!  We got food prepped and then Grandma and Grandpa Sutherland came over so we got to visit with them for awhile.  Dinner was amazing as usual and we had a fun evening eating, chatting, playing the game Pie Face, eating pie, and playing other games.  Awesome Thanksgiving this year!

Ready to trot!

Oh yeah we all got to ride on my Dad's motorcycle!

Grandma even got on to take a funny picture for their Christmas card...what a good sport!

Food preppin

Table all set and ready to eat!

Dad is ready to greet the whipped cream

The pies of the evening...yum!

Cody took a piece that was a liiiiiiiiiittle too big for him.  He never wants to eat pumpkin pie again haha

Friday after Thanksgiving we all went to Torrey Pines to do a hike.  It was awesome!  I'd actually never done that hike before, which made me super sad because it was beautiful!!  Jayce was super grumpy and causing problems as usual but other than that it was a perfectly lovely hike.  Afterwards we got donuts for breakfast and then decorated the house for Christmas!  In the evening we went to a clean comedy club downtown for a show that was super fun!  Cody even volunteered and got up on stage!  What a good sport.  It was a good time for sure!

Umm YES...so beautiful

Driving to the hike...obviously someone in front was a little grumpy

Not sure why this pic is blurry

And this one

All of the pictures my mom sent me are blurry.  Boo.  I will have to go in and fix them once I figure out how.  Anyways, Saturday Derek and Mariah left in the morning to head back to Idaho.  My dad took them to the train station to head up to LAX.  My mom and I ran from home to the church building to help with their church cleaning assignment.  Afterwards mom made a yummy breakfast and we had a pretty chill day after that, watching football and stuff.  We watched a good movie that night called Mr. Church, then watched Charlotte's Web after that to laugh at all the funny parts but it was pretty long and boring and only funny sometimes haha.  Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting then left to head back to AZ.  Such a fun and much needed trip!

Oh also, it must be remembered that I made these mini apple pies for my young women the Sunday before Thanksgiving for their treat.  They took me 7 hours to make, but they turned out sooo cute and I loved them.

Another awesome Thanksgiving!  Thanks family!

I'm pregnant!!!!!

Very exciting news!  I'm pregnant!!  Yippee!!  We announced it to our families over Labor Day weekend.  Super fun.  We announced to our extended families in mid-October, and then announced to everyone else via social media on October 30th with this picture:

This photo shoot took a bit of work to get to come together, but we got it!  I love how the pictures turned out!  So fun!  The caption read "This is no TRICK, our little TREAT arrives in April!"

At this point (January 27th), I am 27 weeks.  I'll be 28 weeks on Sunday, which is the start of the third trimester!  What!?  Not sure how I got this far but we're so excited to meet this baby GIRL so we're ready for her to come.  Here is a chronology of pictures of the pregnancy so far!

Pregnant!  We honestly weren't really trying yet to get pregnant since my body was still trying to recover from a miscarriage.  I was late and Billy thought my body was just a little out of whack still, and so did I, but I have always been super regular so I just thought I'd take a test to see and BOOM.  Pregnant.  I told Billy very nonchalantly and he was very surprised and excited!

Pretending that I had a bump at 9 weeks...ha!  This is probably just my lunch.  But look how cute and tiny I am!  Dang girl!

This was 10 weeks, but I'm pretty sure a lot of this bump was just bloaty-ness.
Uhh then the order of my pictures gets weird.  This one I have saved both as 13 and 16 weeks, so I'm not sure which it is haha.  Oh well, you couldn't really tell there was anything there until 17 weeks anyway.

One of the earlier ultrasounds when baby was just tiny tiny

Later ultrasound (16 weeks?) where baby was looking like a demon and holding one arm up chanting "I'm #1!"

18 weeks

Jump to 20 weeks

We had our 20 week ultrasound to try and see the gender the day after I made it to 20 weeks.  We posted this picture asking if people thought it was going to have nuts or no nuts?  Hehehe

We didn't find out until our in-depth ultrasound at 22 weeks (on Dec 19th) that baby has no nuts!  It's a girl!!  She had her legs crossed at the 20 week appointment, but fortunately she opened up a bit a couple weeks later and revealed her gender!  We had been thinking it was a girl since our 16 week appointment when our doctor said he thought it was a girl, so it wasn't much of a surprise but still fun to officially be able to buy baby girl things :)

Here's a super embarrassing crotch shot of baby girl complete with girl parts!

Look at this cutie!!!  What an adorable little face.

I had to work really hard to get this profile shot.  Coughing, laughing, bumping my stomach, so she would turn and give a side view rather than looking at the camera strait on.

21 weeks

22 weeks, looking oh so excited

23 weeks, almost 24.  Old Navy dressing room, finally buying some maternity jeans which are great!  Only thing that sucks is that they keep falling down.

25 weeks

26 weeks

This was on Wednesday this week, at 27 weeks.  Getting big!
So yep that's where I'm at now.  I'm still working at the physical therapy clinic and patients have stopped wondering if I'm pregnant and have just started asking about it.  It's fun but it's also weird because it's like my personal life is just out there for everyone to see and ask about, you know?  I also feel like I answer the same questions a million times a day "You're expecting?!  Congratulations! Your first?  When are you due?  Boy or girl?  Are you excited?  You are about to be tired for the next 20 years!" Yeah...I get it.  Ha!  Those are all great questions to ask but I just get to answer them at least 10 times a day ;)

I have been super lucky and not had many symptoms at all.  I was a little morning sick in the beginning but nothing bad.  I didn't have any real crazy cravings, just aversions to like all food.  I hated eating for a while.  I did crave things like lemonade and oranges and apples, citrus-y things.  But another symptom that has been consistent since the beginning and still now is that my tongue is constantly raw and destroyed!  So if I want to eat anything citrus I just can't eat very much or my tongue will burn for days.  So weird.  I've also been really itchy, I think that's pretty normal for pregnant women though since the skin is stretching so much.

Well, that's it for now!  I have a goal to document the rest of my pregnancy better, but does the pregnancy really matter?  I should probably just focus on documenting the baby much better than I've done with the pregnancy haha!
