Sorry this is a week late, its been a crazy week! My parents came last weekend for conference and oh my was it great. I love my parents. They didn't need to come, especially since its a 10 hour drive to get here. But they came anyways, probably because they knew I wanted them to so bad.
They got here Friday right after my class and met me on campus. We went to the MOA to see the Carl Bloch exhibit. BYU is so lucky we get to have all those paintings on our campus! It was incredible. He portrayed the life of Christ in such an amazing and thoughtful way. This one was my fav:
Then they took me to Costco and stocked us up good. That was the best. I love having food in the house. It's definitely better than none. That night we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with the Barrow cousins.
Steven and Katie are goobers :)
My mom made me an early birthday present
aka a recipie book of all the recipies of stuff my mom made regularly while I was growing up! Its SO AWESOME! And we've already used it like 573948 times. Jk like 2. But it's so great and it probably took SO MUCH work and I love it.
Saturday morning me and my parents went running together, which is one of my favorite things to do. Later we headed up to Salt Lake and on our way, stopped at Kim and Adam's to meet baby Olivia!
She is so tiny and adorable. Don't mind how white my legs/body are in any of these pictures btw...
Unfortunately, our stop to see Olivia and my hungry tummy that wanted a Jamba made us late to the afternoon session and we weren't able to get in. Very unfortunate since that is the reason my parents drove up here. But it was alright Dad and Billy got to go to Priesthood session so it was all good. While they were there, me and Mom went shopping!!! Another one of my most favorite things to do. I got some pretty cute stuff that I am very excited about.
On our way back, we stopped at The Chocolate, a dessert place in Orem, for some cake and cazookies. Dad DOWNED his which was hilarious. It was so good.
Sunday morning we went over to John and Barbara's for a delish breakfast and conference! It randomly snowed like 53948 inches that night so it was so beautiful and snowy and white all around everywhere all day.
After conference Mom and Dad came over and we made dinner and played games and made/ate the most delicious cake in the world. It was great. You may think I have fangs in the second picture of us licking the bowl of stew...but rest assured, I don't.
Something super weird and hilarious happened too. Dad went to go get my phone from John and Barbara's because I forgot it and while he was gone Mom randomly read a line out of Billy's abnormal Psychology book about how African American women are less likely to have aneorexia (sp?) than white women. When Dad got back, he was flipping through the book and then read the EXACT SAME THING out loud!! We were like WHAT how did he choose that exact page and choose to read that exact same thing! It was seriously so funny, we are still laughing about it. They were meant to be!
Sunday night we said goodbye and Mom and Dad drove home on Monday. So sad to see them leave but I am pretty sure we will be seeing them at the end of this month once finals are over and we can go to Disneyland again!! WOO WOO!
p.s. today was the last Friday of this semester. I can't believe it! Wednesday is the last day of classes. I think this semester has been the fastest one, probably because it's been the busiest one. Finals start a week from tomorrow!!
p.p.s. I didn't even talk about how much I loved conference! It was so awesome! I think as I get older I appreciate it more and more. I feel like it is fun listening to the talks and I (for the most part) just eat them up. It's so great we have a living prophet on Earth today!! Like seriously have you thought about how awesome that is? Most religions don't believe that there have been prophets like Moses and Noah since long long ago but why wouldn't we have a Prophet today? Our times are the most troubled out of any in the history of the world. Therefore, we need the most guidence, and what better than a prophet and his 12 apostles? So awesome.
p.p.p.s. this post is pretty much a re-run of my mom's post, so if you read both, sorry you had to read about it twice. I just thought I would document the weekend for posterity's sake.
p.p.p.p.s. I don't know how to fix my blog so that it's wider and the pictures are bigger. I am technology challenged. Help me?
Hey! I liked your version better than my version. Seriously, your perspective was fun to hear. I am determined to be able to run the whole way with you next time. You kicked my rear up those hills!
ReplyDeleteI'm so craving that chocolate cake...I think I need to make one stat! Maybe after I run the Ragnar next week...
To make it wider, go to DESIGN, then TEMPLATE DESIGNER, then ADJUST WIDTHS. I just learned how to do it yesterday. Also, to make your pictures bigger, you have to select LARGE on the download screen. Hope that helps!
Sure love you guys...it was much easier to leave knowing we'd see you soon!!
