Medicine Hat, Alberta

I was only in Medicine Hat for a few days with Billy.  We went running our first morning after all our driving to get our muscles moving.  It was a pretty run!  The house where we were staying is right near a river, so we got to run along it.  It was pretty.

Yes, Billy ran really fast ahead of me to get this picture
We went into the office each day and I just helped with data entry and updating Ethiopian kid's files and stuff.  It was pretty boring.  I feel bad for Billy stuck in that tiny office all day everyday, but at least it's only 9-5!  Wouldn't that be nice to not have to go into work until 9...sigh.

Working super diligently

One day we had to make a little field trip to the bank.  We took a long way back and stopped at the world's largest chess set (I don't think it really is the world's largest...but ok Canada, we'll give it to you)
Gross picture but we got our Canadian Humanitarian T-shirts!  Yay!
We went to Costco one night and GUESS WHAT THEY HAVE THERE IN THE FOOD COURT!  FRENCH FRIES AND CHICKEN STRIPS!!!  Yummmmmmmmm and they also have ice cream sundaes that are DELICIOUS.  And a reasonable size so you can actually finish them before they become melty mush.

Canadian Costco!  Pretty much the same as America Costco...

The fries were goooooood!
Our way home from Costco we saw this awesome sign...amazing.
Over the weekend we made a super quick trip up to Calgary and Banff national park.  I'll do separate posts about those.  Monday when we were back we decided to go out to eat since it would be our last time truly alone together for a while.  Billy wanted to go to a sit down place but I was feeling meh and grumpy and just wanted a burger NOW.  So we went to five guys.  And it was delicious and fun.  I love Billy!

The next day we drove to Montana for an internship training/retreat with everyone who works at the Canadian Humanitarian office!  It was AWESOME!  Separate post coming about that as well!  Dang I just have to say though that I miss Billy!  Being apart is tough!

A few funny things about Canada.  First of all, they DO HAVE AN ACCENT.  This is not a myth.  It is real.  Also, they really are super nice.  Also, they don't like Americans.  They think we are aggressive and arrogant.  Well, that's a generalization, I think they liked us fine.  Another thing, have you ever heard of the Calgary Stampede?  I hadn't either but it is a big deal, people.  It is a huge rodeo in Calgary once a year where they race chuck wagons around in a big stadium.  It's so funny I had never heard of it because it is such a big deal there.  Anyways, Calgary, Banff and Montana up next.
