Disneyland!

Back when Derek and Mariah were engaged, my parents organized this super fun Disneyland weekend for us to spend time with each other and get to know Mariah before the wedding! It was super fun!  We drove to Orange County on Wednesday, April 13th and spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Sutherland's house.  It was fun to see them and our room had been spruced up by Uncle Steve.  He disconnected the normal room light and strung up white Christmas lights around the room that turned on instead.  He also hid reams of paper under our pillows, put a bathroom scale by the side of the bed and also hid a Costco supply of toilet paper in the bed too.

The next morning, we left early for Disneyland to get in during the magic hour (1 hour early since the rest of the fam had been staying in the Paradise Pier hotel).  We parked at their hotel and met Mariah for the first time which was exciting!  Then we headed to the park.  We had a great time at Disneyland!  We rode all our favorite rides (except thunder mountain was closed....boo!), got Dole whips, saw a mommy and baby ducks, went back to the hotel for a bit to rest and then enjoyed the parade at night!  It was an awesome day.

At the end of the day the first day we watched the World of Color show from the balcony of the Grand Californian hotel.  Awesome!  Day 2 was California Adventure!  We got to eat breakfast at the hotel which was awesome then headed over for the Magic Hour!  We got to ride everything we wanted to and then some!  There is less to do at California Adventure.  We had an awesome day but everyone got tired much earlier this day.

This was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  I thought the ride put a Chewbacca mask on Mariah for the majority of the day until I realized later that it was her hair!!!  Hahaha how crazy is that?!  Hilarious.

We went home Friday evening and then had Saturday to hang out at home.  My mom, Mariah and I did a little shopping and got pedicures while Billy took his Marketing final.  We had my birthday dinner that night, hamburgers, potato salad and jello.  Fun!

 We had to head back on Sunday to get ready for the new week.  It was an amazing weekend and gave us a good chance to meet/get to know Mariah before the wedding a month later!  Thanks Mom and Dad for the amazing weekend!
