Korea's 60 Year Mission Reunion

Long ago Billy heard about this giant mission reunion going down in Provo in October around conference time in honor of missionary work being allowed in Korea for 60 years.  He wanted to go but we didn't know if we could make it happen.  For some reason we decided to make the crazy drive out there on Thursday, then back on Sunday!  11 hours each way, blah.  But it was really fun and the drive wasn't bad.

We got in late Thursday night and just went straight to bed.  Friday we got up late and had a fun Provo-reminiscing day!  We went to lunch at Magleby's, went to the bookstore, walked around campus, got some creamery ice cream and called the Provo tour good!  It was super crowded because it was a home football game that night AND conference so there were tons of families there.

On our drive...wowza

My freshman dorm <3

Where Billy and I had our first kiss!  In his car, parked in front of this dumpster.  We spent a lot of time parked there!  Ha!  Not making out or anything...much too public ;)

My first off-campus apartment at Liberty Square...loved and hated it

Our first married apartment!  Lucky #7.  We love this little apartment!

My BYU job for 2.5 years...good times spent here

Where Billy and I used to meet up to walk into class each Tuesday evening together

Reenacting the walk-up-and-greet that we used to do :)

Our classroom where our love was planted and began to bloom...

I didn't go all the way in because there was someone studying in there but I used to sit against the wall in the middle desk and Billy would be sitting next to me.  Our first exchange of words-- me: "I like your shoes!"  him: "Thanks!  My mom got them for me" Ha!

Creamery ice cream...a necessity for sure

The reunion was that evening so we headed out to UVU around 5.  Billy had a good time reconnecting with old companions, mission buddies, and mission presidents!  It was a huge event and it was lots of fun!  Especially for Billy!  He got to reconnect with old mission buddies and both of his mission presidents!  He also saw his good friend Hanna from one of his BYU wards and a few other friends.  Evan Price was there for a while which was super fun.  We had a good time chatting and then there was a good program celebrating the church in Korea and Korean culture.  Fun night!

Wow we did not take very many pictures from the night but it was a good time!  Saturday we got up and went for a little jog, then came back and had delicious breakfast made by John and watched conference.  It was awesome!  In between sessions we drove up the canyon to see the leaves on the trees changing.  Then we watched the second session and that evening all the John and Barbara kids came over for a fun night of pizza, games, chatting, Priesthood session, and ice cream!  Boo ya!

Pictures can't do the beauty justice!  I thought this was a super cool shot.  Go me!

Eating cherry sours while watching conference.  Cherry sours are another BYU must.

Picture from our morning jog.  So pretty.
Oops!  Didn't get any pictures of the evening fun.  Boo.  Well, it was fun to hang out with Hayley and Johnny and Greg and Lisa, maybe Lauren too?  I can't remember if she came or not, I don't think so though.  Good times.  The next morning Greg and Lisa came over for another delicious breakfast made by John and Barbara and we all chatted and ate right through the morning session of conference!  After breakfast Billy and I had to hit the road so we could get back home.  It was so sad to leave, we had barely gotten there!  Barbara packed us some awesome lunches and we headed out.  Another super long drive but it was nice listening to conference on the way.  We decided to stop and see Horseshoe Bend on our way back since we didn't realize it was on the way!  We spent about an hour there.  It was so breathtaking!  Pictures can't do it justice of course.  It really was magnificent, I'd highly recommend anyone stopping there!  It's worth it!

It was super windy

Tried to take a cute "bump" pic but it didn't turn out that awesome ha.

We made it home safely that night!  What a fun weekend!  Not sure if I ever want to do that drive within 3 days ever again but it was fun once :)
