April 2018

April was a busy busy month!  Easter and General Conference were the beginning of the month then Jenny and kids came out for their spring break, then we were in full birthday planning and prep mode!  My parents came out to celebrate Colby's birthday which was super fun.

Colby turned ONE YEAR in April!  She was very chatty with her classic "b-duh, b-duh, b-duh", as well as ya-ya-ya and sha-sha-sha on repeat.  She was soooo close to walking, she actually started walking full time the beginning of May!  Her naps were super inconsistent and the day before her birthday was her last day of 2 naps.  She's never been a good napper.  At one year she had so much personality already.  She loved rocks and leaves and outside.  She loved her new found independence being able to move around.  She was a big toy player and loved all the new toys she got for her birthday!  Her favorite toys were things with buttons or sound.  She also loved sitting on stuff, especially our laps, but I got her a little chair for her birthday since she loved putting her booty wherever it would fit.

First up, Jenny came to town to spend spring break!  We had fun at the splash pad and then the Dolly Steamboat ride the first day they were here.  Colby actually hated the steamboat and was a nightmare while on it, but it was fun to be with everyone!

Sierra has always been SO good with Colby!

Fell asleep on the way home from the steamboat because she refused a second nap and was exhausted

Next up, Higley hot dog for lunch (no pics of that unfortunately) and then IDEA museum!  We had a girls night that night just me, Karen, Jenny and Kara out to eat at Gecko Grill but I didn't get a pic of that either!  Yikes.

Next day was pool time and lunch.

Jenny and kids left the next day, so we met them at BoSa in the morning to see them off.  Billy has a pic of that I need to get from him.  Such a fun visit!  Thanks for coming out Jenny!

The next day (April 7) we went to Sawyer Crowley's birthday party (my friend Alycia's little man).  Colby did so well and it was fun to reconnect with some PQ friends from way back when!

Fell asleep on the way there, yay!

That afternoon was our neighborhood block party.  Fun times!

One night this month was the Kleven Family Picnic and Colby took a spill at the park and scratched her face :(

She started loving the swing and Billy has always tried to get her to keep her sunglasses on haha
Went to the Queen Creek food trucks one Friday night with Bruce and Karen.  Colby loved all the dirt and rocks, and her Grammy!

Making messes

Grandma and Grandpa came to town for Colby's birthday party!

Cutie pie with food all over her face

Went to lunch at Cafe Rio one day

Obsessed with helping with the dishes

Forever obsessed with rocks

Getting comfy in her high chair and she always makes a mess of my nightstand

Hiked Camelback with Shar and Alycia for my 28th birthday, then went to breakfast at Matt's Big Breakfast afterwards.  It was my favorite kind of birthday celebration!  Doing something difficult and rewarding it with lots of amazing food :)

Forever a legit question...

Celebrating mine and Kara's birthdays at Bruce and Karen's house!

Colby's birthday party invite!  I'll do a separate post about her birthday party!

A few days before her birthday, I asked Shar to take some cake smash photos of Colby.  It did not go exactly as planned haha but she still managed to get some good ones!  I will really treasure these forever!

Behind the scenes and the amazing (not so much) cake I made haha

On Colby's actual birthday we went to Chick fil A (because she used to love it), and Daddy joined us!  Yay!

After nap on her birthday we hit up the Eastmark splash pad and got some milkshakes with Shar and her kids.  Colby didn't care for the splash pad but loved the milkshake :)

Our next door neighbor got Colby this cute doggie and Colby was loving it and giving it lots of kisses immediately.

More cake smash photos (sorry, out of order).  She would NOT try the cake.  We had to bribe her to be happy with chocolate chips (and I had to smear some cake on her face to make it look like she was eating it).  She got VERY upset a couple times.

Gagging on her spit from all the hysterical crying
Cute ones!

My mom is always so fun when she visits Colby!  She does whatever little girlie wants to do and Colby loves it.  Such a fun Grandma!

I love seeing how she sleeps, and more Daddy cuddles

It was a super fun and jam-packed month!  Next post will be Colby's birthday party!  Yay!  Happy Birthday Colby!
